Northwood Hills Ward, Hillingdon Council Election

The Bankers & the Speculators have been bailed instead of jailed

Our children and grandchildren are being burdened with the biggest debt in history. The effects on the lives of workers, youth, pensioners and small businesses will be even more devastating. All the main big business parties boast that the cutbacks will be worse than the 1980's, when we saw or experienced the brutal destruction of entire communities.

We must not let it happen again

They want us to pay for their greed and incompetence by privatising profit and nationalising their debt. They have destroyed the value of the savings and pensions of those who have worked all their lives. They have lined their own pockets at our expense.

We must not let them get away with it

The policies of the government, Bankers and big corporations have turned Northwood Hills into a rundown area of struggling businesses and empty shops. Even our local council has given control of the business rates to a company in the north of England.

We must organise to rebuild our local community

  • For Free Childcare
  • For Affordable and Council Housing for all our people in need
  • Free Services and Care for the Elderly
  • For all empty shops and properties to be brought back into use
  • Stop the privatisation of the NHS and Public Services
  • Abolish tuition fees
  • For proper training and real jobs for all our young people

As a former Hillingdon councillor, a Socialist and Trade Unionist, I will campaign for the above and will help build an opposition to the Corporate and economic system of greed, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer … and the blame.

Personal statement from Wally Kennedy

“I have lived in the borough for over 33 years and have been married for 36 years (bless her patience). We have four children. I have seen the effects on Northwood Hills of years of neglect due to Corporate, Government and Local Council policies. I have worked as a volunteer community advocate since leaving the Council in 1998 where I had been a councillor for eight years.

“On May 6th you will have three votes in the council elections - I am asking you for one of your votes. You don't have to agree with everything I stand for; but I pledge to fight in the interests of ordinary people with the same passion and commitment as the main parties fight for the interests of the Bankers and big corporations.”
